Easy Mongolian Beef

Mongolian Beef is a dish commonly served in Chinese restaurants, made of sliced beef and onions, often paired with steamed rice or broccoli. Taking only 20 minutes to prep, and 20 minutes to cook, this will become a dinner time favorite.

  • 1 1/2 Pounds Boneless Beef, Julienne Cut(1/4 inch strips)
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 3 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 cup Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 Teaspoon Minced Ginger
  • 3 Garlic Cloves Minced
  • Pinch of Red Pepper Flakes
  • Green Onions, for garnish


  1. In a zip lock bag, toss the beef and cornstarch until evenly coated. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet to high heat and add the beef in a single layer. Cook for one minute per side and remove.
  2. In a small bowl combine soy sauce, brown sugar, water, ginger, and garlic. Add the sauce to the pan and boil. 
  3. Add the beef to the sauce and allow it to thicken for a few minutes. Toss with the chopped green onions and sprinkle with red pepper flakes.
  4. Serve with steamed rice and broccoli and Enjoy!
